Tour of the Bargello National Museum

The Bargello National Museum contains the most important collection of Renaissance Sculptures in the world but despite this not everyone knows it.
In reality we are not talking only of Renaissance sculptures but of a large collection of ancient coins and seals from the State and Mint Archives, ceramics, sculptures and sacred objects from suppressed monastic orders, weapons and armors, bronzes, objects of applied art and fabrics from distant lands thanks to private donations or from the Uffizi Gallery. A real art potpourri!
But the fulcrum of the collection consists of a rich part of the sculptural production of Donatello and other artists of the Florentine Renaissance such as Andrea del Verrocchio, Desiderio da Settignano, Benedetto da Maiano, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Filippo Brunelleschi, Baccio Bandinelli, Bartolomeo Ammannati, Benvenuto Cellini, Giambologna and Michelangelo Buonarroti, just to name a few.
Together we will discover the charm of this ancient palace and its many collections up to understand the sculptural development that has been undertaken in Florence during 2 centuries of history through the stories of its most important artists.
